“Keen to be green: Sustainability in scene design & decorative construction - status quo & innovations”
Tue, May 7th, 2024, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., via Zoom - registrations are now possible!
Time for a recap! The German Film Commissions' sustainable online networking event “Keen to be green” started in 2020 with the production design trade and the mission to make film productions “greener”. Four years later, on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., we will take stock together with the Association of Scene Design & Costume Design e.V. (VSK) at “Keen to be green: Sustainability in production design & decorative construction - status quo & innovations”.
Where did we start, what political and economic developments were there and what is the current sustainable status quo in the scene? What challenges do creatives face in terms of sustainability in communication, time and budget pressure? And how can change be supported?
Our experts report from practice with a focus on wood alternatives and recycling cycles. Which innovations have already proven themselves? How important is the resource wood as a CO2 store and how can recycling cycles be established in the long term - especially with regard to the upcoming requirements of the “Ecological Standards” for production design that are relevant to film funding.
We look forward to the following guests:
- John Baker, Managing Director SpeedSet
- Dr. Hannes Böttcher, Senior Researcher ÖKO-Institut e.V.
- Samuel Jaeger, film architect / Baudekolon Design Atelier
- Matthias Müsse, production designer & VSK board member
- Chris Gilmour, Design Director at Vectar Sets
- Götz Harmel, production designer “Toni’s World”
- Olivier Meidinger, production designer & VSK board member
- David Peichl, initiator of “Setbakers” & outside props manager
