With its many enchanting historical parks and palaces, its wide array of broad landscapes, forests, fields, lakes and river settings, its many picturesque villages and small towns – as well as its direct proximity to Berlin – the federal state of Brandenburg offers both outstanding logistical conditions and pure nature. The region’s many old industrial buildings and former militarily complexes also serve as unique and ideal film backdrops.

Film history continues to be made today at Babelsberg Studios. This studio complex, which lies just outside of Berlin, is one of the largest and most important in Europe. Indeed, the entire Berlin-Brandenburg region has secured an excellent reputation as a leading European film location due to its strategic synergies, first-rate expertise and professionalism paired with diverse locations and perfect production conditions.
